My whippets and chihuahua LOVE this treat! I buy all natural beef marrow bones at the pet store. I like the 2 1/2 - 3" size as my dogs are small to medium in size. After my dogs have eaten all they can of the marrow of the bones, I fill them with peanut butter (all natural - without added sugar or salt), then wrap them in plastic wrap and freeze them till needed.
Yes, they can eat them before they are frozen, but they will be very messy. Besides, the treat will last longer when they are frozen.
You can refill the bones again and again. Just keep an eye on the bones as they are consumed to be sure your dogs don't break off small bits.
